WARD BUSINESS:

- Ward Relief Society Dinner, December 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at the church.  There will be dinner and entertainment.  Please come hungry!  Contact Melanie Day with any questions.

- Ward Christmas Party, December 4th at 6:00 p.m.  Dinner and talent show.  Contact Evan Loveless with any questions.

- Light up the Night Sub-4-Santa and Neighborhood Activity.  7:00-8:30 at September Morning Circle.  Please bring a Walmart or Target gift card and make all donations anonymous.  Hot chocolate and desserts will be served around a crackling fire.

- Bonnie Lyon's mother passed away this last Tuesday evening.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.  If you'd like to read the obituary or leave your online condolonces, click here.

- Elder Colton Michaelis delivered his homecoming address today...reviewing his thoughts and feelings of serving in Macon, Georiga.  His signature phrase became "all ya'll".  He did a wonderful job today and it is obvious how much he has grown and matured.  Well done Colton.

RELIEF SOCIETY - Good News Minutes

- Both Lynette Rasmussen and Linda Clawson are going to be grandmothers once again.  Congrats!

- Christine Day's granddaughter was in the Nutcracker and she went to see her performance last night.  She did a great job and while there she saw an old ward member who was also in the Nutcracker with her children, Debbie King.  She said to tell everyone hello.

Happy Thanksgiving

No Church....

The power and heat were out at the building and church was cancelled.  So there are no new announcements or updates to post.

However, I thought it would fun to pass along this fun idea for Thanksgiving if you have young kiddos - A Turkey Hunt.

We also have two missionaries coming home soon....Elder Michaelis (Nov. ?) and Elder Henricksen (December 28th).  What an exciting time!

WARD BUSINESS:


- Alicia Archibald was released from the YW Organization.
- Robert and Jen Zito were released from the Activities Committee.
- Lynne Hill was sustained as the 2nd Counselor in the YW Presidency.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

- McKinley Olson received her Beehive certificate.



- Taylor Wood received his Duty to God (as a Deacon)



- Weston Hanks received his Duty to God (as a Teacher)



- Kaitlin Kamerath received her Young Women Recognition Award.  Great work Kaitlin!

- Brock Wengren and Jake Pulver both received their Duty to God Award today.  What a wonderful accomplishment!

RELIEF SOCIETY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

- The bishop has asked us to all try and donate whatever money we can to go towards gifts for the missionaries serving in out ward.  He said, "If we all gave $2 or $3, we would have a nice gift for our missionaires."

- Ward Christmas Party is on December 4th at 6:00.  It has changed from an Adult Christmas party to a Ward Christmas Party.  See signups if you'd like to bring a dessert or share a talent.

GOOD NEWS MINUTES:

- Kathie Terry and her husband celebrated 35 years of marriage last Sunday.  In this day and age, that is remarkable!  She joked saying, "We're going to try for another year."

- Brooke Oswald was involved with the Junior Miss Scholarship and is now going to State.  Congrats!

- Emily Tidwell had her baby boy, William, seven weeks early.  He was 5 lbs. 5 oz. and as Angela said, "He has more hair than his grandpa."  He is still in the NICU but hopefully will be home soon!  They allowed me to share the following pictures with you (click on picture to enlarge):

- Today is Michelle Patey's birthday.  Upon leaving church she found that her family had decorated her car to celebrate.  Happy Birthday Michelle (and Linda Brunisholtz!)

Sister Spotlight - Angie Nelson

It's sometimes a struggle to remember life before Motherhood, so I am glad that I get to job my memory a bit by doing this spotlight....I have lived in Utah all my life and grew up close by in West Jordan.  I am the oldest of three kids in my family but I ended up being the shortest somehow, which still kinda makes me mad!  Nevertheless, it apparently doesn't matter because my siblings still let me boss them around now and again!  I have a sweet younger sister who I adore and would have a hard time living without!

After graduating from West Jordan High, I decided to try my hand at college, never really thinking that I would graduate, but five years later I got that diploma and was the first to do so on both sides of my family.  (That was also the same day that my husband, Jeremy, proposed to me...it was a good day!)  I graduated from the U of U in Exercise Physiology and took a job right after at IHC in their cardiology department rehabilitating cardiac patients.  When we decided to start our family, I knew I would need to change careers in order to be at home more and so I decided to get my Real Estate license and have been a Realtor for the past 6-1/2 years.

I served a mission in Venezuela and just loved everything about it, even the hard things!  I now have the big job, along with my husband of raising our two sweet girls: Kate who is four and Tessa who is 16 months!  I'm so grateful for the guidance of the Gospel to help us do that!  When I catch a little "me" time I will spend it going for a run, reading, watching HGTV or going to lunch wiht my close girlfriends.
