* Just a reminder the activity
is coming up next week! For the month of April on the 23rd at 7pm we
will have finish your project night. If you have had the blasted project
you have wanted to finish for months come finish it with us! And eat
yummy treats! Also for those of you who have
the ladder here is the new spring kit very cute!! it is $26 with
everything provided. If you would like to get a ladder it is $12 and it
is unpainted, so you would have to paint it most likely at home but can
finish the kit at the church! Let me know if any of you would like to
order any of these to finish that night otherwise see you on the 23rd
with your own project!
* This month for Emma's Basket for Helping Kids with Cancer we are
collecting Small legos, small blocks, small puzzles, etc.. for ages 0-11
Boy or Girl to be put in the stockings. As a reminder they must be new
and must be able to fit in a standard Christmas Stocking. We will be
collecting these items all month. If you still have some things for
previous months you are always welcome to bring those as well. Thanks so
much for your help with this great charity!
* On Tuesday, May19th we will be meeting at Bobi Whitlock's home at 6:30 pm to carpool and head over to Rhodes for a fun evening.
Please plan to be on time as we need to be there by 645. This activity
is with the Young Women as well so plan on bringing your daughter(s) if
they are 12 or older. We are covering the cost of the baking demo, they
will however be selling their cookbook at a discounted rate only that
night for $5 normally $10 and you would need money with you that evening
to purchase it. This will be our May activity we did move it to a
Tuesday so we can be with the YW, come and have some fun and learn some
great tricks from Rhodes!
* LDS General Conference Challenge - We wanted to pass this on to you in case

Update on Service Auction
Hi this is in regards to the Relief Society Birthday SERVICE Auction. We
just want to reiterate and clarify that this is strictly for SERVICE
items to be donated. Our ward youth have an auction every year and that
is a way for them to earn money for their programs throughout the year.
We do NOT want to take away from that. So please make sure that you are
donating a SERVICE that a Sister can bid on. This is all for fun for a
great night to gather as Sisters, and we are trying to uphold to the
values of Service that our Relief Society Organization believes in.
We will be bidding on various SERVICE items throughout the night
that are donated. It will be a point system for bidding. You will add up
your points during dinner and then bid with points on items. There will
be no money exchanged or taken that night. Please save those types of
items for the Youth auction in April!!
This will be a fun fun event to celebrate our Relief Society and what better way than by serving one another.

Emma's Basket
Hi Sisters - As many of you know we have been collecting items for Emma's
basket for charity for the past several years. This year we have a new
charity we want to introduce you to. It is called Helping Kids With
Cancer (HKWC) they are a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity with a mission to assist with critical needs for kids and their families.
Each
month as a Relief Society we will be collecting an item to place in a
stocking. We have attached that at the bottom. For February we will be
collecting a coloring book with crayons of some sort Ages 2-11. Keep in
mind these have to be able to fit in a standard Christmas stocking. These items are no more than $5! You
can also donate a stocking, they can be store bought or made. They
judge the stockings and do prizes for winners it’s a lot of fun! ALL items must be NEW! The last day for items to turn in is going to be Sunday, November 29th All items per month are for a BOY or a GIRL either is fine.
March is going to be a story book of some sort that they can read Ages 0-11.
Every
year this charity makes Christmas special for kids going through
something terrible in their lives. This charity helps families with the
help of Social Workers from Primary Children's Hospital deliver
stockings to children who are suffering from cancer. They also help
families with gas cards, and overnight bags when in need. We have
attached what the charity is about and how we can help. There is also a
video that you can view from the stocking delivery in 2014. The first
part of the video shows the event night where they raise more money for
the charity and viewing of the stockings, and then you will see the
delivery of stockings to the kids.

Lesson Preparation
This year we are encouraging each sister to read the lesson
prior to Relief Society on Sunday. There are bookmarks available to help you
follow along with our study of President Benson on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays and
the teaching of our times lessons on the 4th Sunday. We will also be sending
out an email each week to remind you of the reading material and to inform you
of the reading material for the 1st Sunday. If you have not yet received a
bookmark, please see Julie Henricksen.
The Relief Society lesson this Sunday will be on personal
testimonies. The lesson will be drawn from 2 conference talks: Elder Uchtdorf and Elder Hales.

Emma's Basket
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has
contributed to our Emma's basket this year, as we have been collecting items
for Layette kids for new moms in third world countries. We almost have enough
supplies to make 12 kits...which is a huge feat since each kit requires so many
items. We would love to get these kits finished before the end of the
year. To complete 12 kits we still need a few more items.
We need: 6 zip or button front jackets size 0-3 months (hood
ok) AND 7 pajamas size 0-3 month (can be the pull over open end kind or the
zippered with feet)
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to
contribute either of these items.
You can email me directly at terilt@gmail.com or call/text me at
801-376-5978
Thank you again,
Teri Thompson
