First off, I want to thank everyone for all the of generous donations that have been made this year to our Emma's Basket. We have been donating items to put together layette kits for mother's in third world countries who don't have access to items for their newborn babies. We are working with UMCOR, United Methodist Committee on Relief. You can read more about them here: http://www.umcor.org
We only have a few more items left to collect over the next few months and could really use your help. August's item is infant washcloths. These can be purchased in packs in the baby sections at Walmart and Target. I'm sure the dollar store carries them as well. September's item is Receiving blankets (sizes 28X28 or 32X32…no crib size). In October we will be collecting newborn sweaters or jackets (must open in front. Hoodies are okay but no pullovers). Both the blankets and the jackets or sweaters can be sewn from fabric you have at home. We have patterns in the Relief Society closet if you would like one.
We are excited to be putting these kits together in November and to get them sent off to mother's in need!
Thanks so much for all your help!
